Double Crossed by Ally Carter

Double Crossed is a novella that joins together Ally Carter’s Gallagher Girls series and Heist Society. I have not read either of these series however after reading this book, i am very tempted.

Double Crossed takes place over one event that is happening at a society gala that both Macey McHenry and W.W. Hale V are attending. However they seem slightly different from the rest of the part goers. For one Macey takes note of all the exits and guards as soon as she enters the room, she also notices Hale slipping his hand into the mayors pocket. However soon realises that the phone he had taken was replaced almost immediately. When the room is held hostage by a group of thugs Macey and Hale realise that they could possibly be of use to one another. Macey attends a special school for girls that seem’s to have taught her more than just normal lessons and Hale reveals his con man ways, can the two that would normally be on the opposite ends of this situation work together to ensure their parents and the other high society member’s safety?

This novella was extremely enjoyable and has definitely piqued my interest in both the series. Macey seem very bored with the whole gala and this hostage situation was definitely one way to spice it up! It was interesting to see the plan that Macey and Hale were working on and the way it changed when something caused it to fail. If you like ‘spy’ books or books with ‘heists’ in then this is definitely worth checking out 🙂
