This is the End of Year 2013 Read-a-thon hosted by Juliababyjen’s Reading Room and Dana Square to try and help you chisel away at your TBR pile until the end of the year.

Updates:

So i’ve been really sucky today and not done any reading, i won’t be able to do any tonight as well as i have a meal and drinks 🙂 But hopefully i’ll get more done tomorrow! I’ll update you then, hope your read-a-thon is going better than mine at the moment! 🙂

Challenge: Top Ten Books You Read in 2013

Today’s challenge is to list the top ten books you have read this year! For this i’m not going to include re-reads of books i know i like but read originally a few years ago.

1. Splintered by A.G. Howard

splintered

This book is pure magic, pure and simple! It is fantastic and if you haven’t read it you should now 🙂 (It also doesn’t hurt that i love Alice in Wonderland retellings!)

2. Angelfall by Susan Ee

Angelfall

Again this book captivated me from the beginning and held that captivation the whole way through. I still haven’t read World After but once i get my hands on it i won’t stop until it is finished!

3. The Selection by Kiera Cass

the selection

Another fantastic book! I’m waiting to read The Elite until The One is released next year!

4. Wither by Lauren DeStefano

wither

Wow, this book is incredible and the themes it deals with aren’t the easiest to have people enjoy the book. I can’t wait to read Fever and Sever next!

5. Endless by Amanda Gray

endless

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, however i am aware it will be one of the ‘less known’ books in this list. If you get a chance this book is definitely worth checking out!

6. Legend by Marie Lu

legend

Again, great book, great themes, great plot, great characters, what more could you want?

7. The Lost Prince by Julia Kagawa

The Lost prince

I loved her Iron Fey series so am happy to see this sort of continued, even is we aren’t following Meghan and Ash anymore!

8. The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa

iron traitor

Following on from The Lost Prince, The Iron Traitor carried on with the fantastic storyline and i’m now eagerly awaiting the 3rd book in the series.

9. Death of the Mad Hatter by Sarah J. Pepper

death of the mad hatter

My review for this book will either be up later today or sometime this week. I said before that i love Alice in Wonderland retellings, well this book was fantastic and fun and i thoroughly enjoyed myself reading it! It embraces some of the more ‘mad’ aspects of Wonderland.

10. Becoming Alpha by Aileen Erin

becoming alpha

My review will be going up soon as this book is being released in the next few days. When i first finished the book i knew i had enjoyed myself. However in the days since i have found myself thinking about it more and more, till i knew i had to add it to this list! If you get the chance to read it anytime soon and you don’t mind werewolves, then i’d definitely say do!

What are your best book this year? Hoepfully this Read-a-thon will give me a few more to add onto this list!

Hope your Read-a-thons go along nicely 🙂
