Top Ten Tuesday is a Weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where each week a topic is given and we have to reply with ten answers.

This Week’s Question: Top Ten New to Me Authors in 2014

It’s hard to think back to what books were read at the beginning of this year and which were read last year. I think i’ve only included authors that i’ve started reading this year but apologies if i’m wrong! If there are any on here you are unfamiliar with please go and check them out, they’ve been recommended for a reason!

10. Sophie Jordan – Firelight

Firelight

I really haven’t seen this concept around as much, and with the current market saturation with certain genres its really nice to read a book with a change. The Dragon/Human mix was one i thoroughly enjoyed and you could really feel for the characters and why they wanted to do what they did.

9. Susanne Winnacker – Impostor

Definitely interesting, i read this book back at the beginning of the year but it’s left a lasting impression. I really need to get around to reading the rest of the series, however the way in which Susanne has created her characters and the world has left it open for so much potential for the future.

8. Rae Carson – The Girl of Fire and Thorns

The Girl of Fire and Thorns

7. Jodi Lynn Anderson – Tiger Lily

6. Tahereh Mafi – Shatter Me

5. Anna Sheehan – A Long Long Sleep

4. Rick Yancey – The Fifth Wave

3. Danielle L. Jensen – Stolen Songbird

2. Ednah Walters – Runes

1. Jennifer Donnelly – Waterfire Saga: Deep Blue
