Waiting on Wednesday (38)

waiting on wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine talking about upcoming book released we are excited for.

My choice this week is:

The Red Queen

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Release Date: 10th February

From Goodreads:

The poverty stricken Reds are commoners, living under the rule of the Silvers, elite warriors with god-like powers.

To Mare Barrow, a 17-year-old Red girl from The Stilts, it looks like nothing will ever change.

Mare finds herself working in the Silver Palace, at the centre of
those she hates the most. She quickly discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy Silver control.

But power is a dangerous game. And in this world divided by blood, who will win?”

You many have noticed that this was one of my most anticipated releases of February 2015, i am really looking forward to seeing how Victoria builds the world and the interactions of the characters. Also what will eventually happen to Mare, something is obviously going on and it will be interesting to see how much of that we gleam in this book, as opposed to the other two in the trilogy.

What are your picks for this week?

    1. I’m so jealous, i cannot wait to read it! Your pick looks great too, i still need to read the first one but am super excited for it!

  1. I am disgustingly excited for this book. Aside from adoring the cover, it just sounds so great. I hope it lives up to the mountain of hype its been getting the past few months. I think I’ve heard more about this book than all the other books coming out this year combined lol.

    1. I completely agree! The cover first drew me into the book as i loved the message and simplicity. However the plot makes it sound like the sort of book i cannot wait to start reading. I know what you mean, i keep hearing about this book everywhere! Though there seem to be so many potentially great book releases in the near future. 2015 is a year i can definitely get behind 🙂 Thanks for stopping by
