Most Anticipated Release April 2015

April is the best month of the year, mainly due to it being Birthday month, but its also always easter and that means time off (well it’s meant to mean study for exams but meh). There are some great books coming out in April and i’m extremely excited to be finally able to get my hands in some *cough*all*cough* of these books in the next few weeks. April 28th seems to be a mammoth day for publishing and so it’ll be a great end to the month ūüôā

My Most Anticipated Releases of April 2015 (in no particular order):

1. Dream a Little Dream by Kerstin Gier

(Publishing: April 14th by Henry Holt & Co. )

Dream a Little Dream

So i think this book has been published before but in german? Anyway, i haven’t heard of it and it’s at least being re-released in April and i thought it sounded interesting! It seems to follow a girl called Liz whose been having very strange dreams lately, however are they really just dreams or is something else at play here?

2. Becoming Jinn by Lori Goldstein

(Publishing: April 21st by Feiwel & Friends )

Becoming Jinn

Becoming Jinn seems to follow a young Jinn named Azra as she comes of age and develops her Jinn powers and learns all about what her destiny is. However it seems like Azra may be more powerful than anticipated and we get to watch her journey as she realises who she’s meant to be. I love a good jinn/genie book and can’t wait to get stuck into this one!

3. Rook by Sharon Cameron

(Publishing: April 28th by Scholastic Press )

Rook

Rook looks like it will follow Sophia, forced into an arranged marriage to save her family. However both her and her new husband are not as they appear and both seem to be linked to this Red Rook Feather, it is left when traitors against the revolution are sprung from their prison cells. I really cannot wait to learn a bit more about whats happening, i love that the blurb hasn’t really spoilt anything for us and leaves a lot to be discovered.

4. Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley

(Publishing: April 28th by HarperCollins )

Magonia

Aza is a girl that has never really fit in, diagnosed with a mysterious lung disorder as a baby, the smallest tasks are a chore, including breathing and talking. One day she sees a ship in the sky and thinks she can hear someone calling her name, later she is “lost” from the normal world (not really sure what that means, we shall find out) and appears to have travelled to Magonia. A nation of trading ships high above the clouds. She is powerful here and the ailments that were a burden on earth have now disappeared. I’m really interested to see how Aza travels to the new world and how she ended up on earth in the first place? We shall see.

5. The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Gray

(Publishing: April 28th by Atom )

The Girl at Midnight

The story seems very similar in a way to Daughter of Smoke and Bone and follows a girl called Echo, helping a race of ancient beings who she calls family. (I currently can’t work out if she is also part of this race or human etc..) She is a pickpocket and theif by day and when she finds out the Avicen (her race) need a special object to win the war against another supernatural race she volunteers to go and find it with her thief-y ways. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun to read and looking forward to getting stuck into it.

6. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

(Publishing: April 28th by Razorbill )

An Ember in the Ashes

The story seems to follow a girl called Laia, when her brother is arrested for treason and she goes undercover as a slave in the military in order to get information to help save her brothers life. Sounds interesting, definitely want to know more about the world and how they got to be where they are now.
