Most Anticipated Release June 2015

My Most Anticipated Releases of June 2015 (in no particular order):

1. The Witch Hunter by  Virginia Boecker

(Publishing: 2nd June by Little Brown Books)

The Witch Hunter

As far as i can tell the main story twist is that a great Witch Hunter is accused of being a witch and therefore sentenced to burn at the stake. She then must put her trust in those that she once hunted and find out more about the other world that has been happening that she has not been apart of. I really don’t think this sort of story has been done that much before and it’ll be nice to get a new twist on the regular witch stories. The Salem Witch trials were always interesting and whereas they weren’t specifically referred to in the summary, it definitely feels like they will play a big role in the plot.

2. Hidden Huntress by Danielle L Jensen

(Publishing: 2nd June by Angry Robot)

Hidden Huntress

I can’t really say too much about the plot of this story without giving away some major plot points from the first book. Stolen Songbird was one of my favourite reads from last year and i am hungrily awaiting the next in the series to see what will happen next. The series is definitely worth a read if you haven’t checked it out before.

3. Dark Run by Mike Brooks

(Publishing: 4th June by Del Ray)

Dark Run

I’m not too sure what this book is about, someone related it vaguely to Firefly and i was sold. I haven’t read as many sic-fi books as i would like and i’m hoping that this will give me a whole new appreciation for the genre.

4. Mindwalker by A.J. Steiger

(Publishing: 9th June by Knopf Books)

Mindwalker

I’ve been eyeing up Mindwalker for a while, the cover is absolutely gorgeous and definitely helped to catch my eye. A mindwalker is essentially a therapist that can connect to patients via neural links and help to take away traumatic memories. The main character is either one of these mindwalkers or in training and a classmate asks for her help to remove one of his painful memories. However he potentially has memories hidden that aren’t meant to be seen and trouble is brewing.

5. The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent

(Publishing: 9th June by Delacorte Press)

The Stars Never Rise

Again i don’t really know too much about this one, i like some of Rachel’s other books however and thats what sold me on this book. There seem to be demons that eat souls and a terrible church that persecutes people that have committed sins. The story is about a young girl who is trying to protect her sister and the lengths that they need to go in order to survive.

6. The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

(Publishing: 9th June by Harper)

The Invasion Of The Tearling

Queen of the Tearling was a great book, another of my favourite reads from last year. Therefore Invasion of the Tearling was a no-brainer for my list. Again i can’t say too much about it incase of spoilers, however go and check out the first book in the series if you haven’t already!

7. Dawn of the Flame Sea by Jean Johnson

(Publishing: 16th June by InterMix)

Dawn of the Flame Sea

This book has the fae, i’m already sold. For those of you that aren’t there is also magic and fantasy, alliances and invaders, It looks like it’ll be a great read and i’m really looking forward to getting my hands on it!

8. The Fire Children by Lauren Roy

(Publishing: 18th June by Ravenstone)

The Fire Children

I don’t really know too much about this one, there are fire people who are the sons and daughter of the sun, sent to earth 15 years ago. However it is forbidden to look upon them, when one girl breaks the rules she notices something strange and embarks on a quest to help save her world and others that you may not expect.

9. The Leveller by Julia Durango

(Publishing: 23rd June by HarperCollins)

The Leveller

This is about a world in which you can completely connect to the online virtual reality world. It follows the main character whose job is to retrieve kids that have become trapped in this world or refuse to leave, or whose parents are worried. Obviously there are going to be some major plot points relating to the virtual reality and how much is really virtual. It’s definitely an interesting perspective on the potentially future of online reality and a warning as to the consequences that may occur.

10. Tangled Webs by Lee Bross

(Publishing: 23rd June by Disney Hyperion)

Tangled Webs

This book seems to be heavily focused on blackmail, now that’s definitely an interesting concept and one that i really want to see done right by a good author. It is also set in the 1700’s and whereas i’m usually not as interested in historical fiction, i’m really thinking the blackmail part could be even more interesting in this sort of time period and am eagerly awaiting it’s release.

What are the books that your most looking forward to in June?
